Laparoscopic surgery, also known as laparoscopy or 'lap' for short is a medical procedure that involves making small incicisions in the abdomen or pelvis and uses a camera and other attachments at the end of a laparoscope (ie. usually a rigid cable) to optimise and execute the surgeical procedure with minimal invasiveness.
